What is this all about?

TeenTour Goals

Teen Tour- a Guided Tour for Teenagers, is a project that will involve different kind of schools, subjects and students. The six European schools working on it will adopt procedures all together to involve the pupils in developing an information system that allows teenagers to know the reality of different European countries. The teachers will not only try to guide the students through the different countries in order to get to know history and geography better. No, we also want to guide them psychologically, so that they think more about all the problems that we find today in order to try to improve our international understanding.

Starting and preparing this project in these years, an important turning point for the European Union that is opening to new countries, is a big challenge for us. We’re working so that the new generations feel that there's really only ONE Europe.

Therefore these are our aims:

--- to improve communication between the pupils of the different countries in order to work in partnership;

--- to promote the union of different cultures from different countries, each one part of one Europe;

--- to promote the educational success of pupils, learning from each other: autonomous learning and study method, acknowledgement of strong and weak points, modifying the personal strategies of learning;

--- to stimulate pupils to understand other European languages;

--- to improve pupils’ skills within the communication and information technologies;

--- to improve the situation for students who drop out too early from school or who are thrown out of school! To learn and exchange experiences that allows us, teachers, to answer questions like: Where do this students go?; What can we do to change this situation?; ...

--- to promote the European Dimension and the Common Identity notion;

--- to let pupils understand what “quality of life” means;

--- to decide and get involved into decisions about the improvements to be done on this specific matter;

--- to compare and gather info about school calendars, sport activities, climate and sports, economical and social situation, hobbies, work experience, etc.

--- to inform the community about the various spare time activities and opportunities for teenagers in the different European regions.
